Poor People's Pub via Cotton Valley Trail

Hi bikers,

Yesterday was a hot one! For those who were brave enough to ride, it was shady and pretty up to the old airport and back.

This week we'll get off the roads and return to an old favorite -- Poor People's Pub via the Cotton Valley Rail Trail. 18.1 miles out and back, as flat as you could possibly find in this hilly region of the country, and lunch or snack at the halfway point. We'll meet and leave cars at Fernald Station to avoid the crowds closer to Wolfeboro. 

Make sure your bike is ready to ride; my simple reminder to myself is to check ABC (air, brakes, and cables) before leaving the house. A spare tube is always helpful; I can help with simple needs and have some tools, but I am no bike mechanic. Helmets are required. A flashing light at the rear to alert cars of your presence is an excellent idea on roads. Nordic Skier has some good ones.
